How it works

Three things to set, then nothing to manage.

01

Make a deck

It asks at a random moment inside a range you set — say 5 to 30 minutes — all day or only during the hours you pick.

02

Fill it with items

An item is a prompt and an answer, chosen independently. Any prompt works with any answer.

03

Leave it running

Close the window and Qwizzd waits in the tray, over full screen apps and on whichever desktop you are on.

Questions

What you are shown and what you do are separate choices.

A flag answered on the map, a note played and named, an interval described in words and answered on the keyboard.

KindAs a promptAs an answer
TextA written question, or a typed reply
MapA place highlighted, or a place clicked
PianoA key sounded, or a key pressed
ImageA flag, a painting, a diagram
AudioA clip, a chord, a spoken word

Add your own kind of question

A module is one folder dropped into questions/modules/ — a prompt.js, an answer.js, or both, and whatever data they need. Nothing else in the app changes.

Drop it into an installed copy and it is there next launch, paired with every prompt and answer already installed.

The parts that decide whether you keep using it.

Spaced repetition

Right answers push the next review out along 5m, 25m, 2h, 10h, 2d, 7d, 30d. A wrong one resets to five minutes, and shaky items come up far more often.

Typing judged on meaning

Case, accents and ordinary typos are forgiven, and USA and Holland count — but Austria never becomes Australia.

Honest accuracy

Scored over the whole deck. A deck of fifty with one lucky answer reads as 2%, not 100%.

Nothing scored by accident

The × skips without recording anything. Show answer counts as a miss, because it is one.

A real world map

280 places from Natural Earth, bundled with the app. It tells England from Scotland, and Monaco is still clickable.

Portable decks

Export writes one file holding the deck and every image and clip it uses — with your progress, or as a fresh start for someone else.

Yours alone

Everything lives in one folder on your machine. No sync, no telemetry, no network.
