Terms

These are the terms Qwizzd is offered under. Using the application, the website or the marketplace means accepting them. Qwizzd is made and run by an individual in the United Kingdom, referred to here as "we".

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 to make an account, and at least 18 to subscribe or to publish a deck to the marketplace — or have a parent or guardian do it for you and agree to these terms on your behalf. If you use Qwizzd for an organisation, you are agreeing on its behalf too.

The account

One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what is done with your account. Tell us if you think somebody else has it, and sign the machines out from the account page.

Your username is public: it is the name on anything you publish. Choose one that does not pretend to be somebody else, us included. Three computers may be signed in at once; signing one out frees the slot straight away.

The free plan

The free plan is not a trial. It gives you three decks and every way of answering that is words — typing the answer, picking it from a list, or flipping a card — plus bringing decks in and taking them out again. It does not run out, and nothing you have made ever stops working.

The subscription

Qwizzd Pro is £2.99 a month, taken by Stripe, and it renews until you stop it. You can stop it whenever you like from Account, then Manage billing. You keep everything you have paid for until that month runs out, and then it stops. Prices may change; if they do, you will be emailed at least 30 days before the next payment at the new price, and can cancel first.

Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. Decks past the free allowance and questions that use paid features stay exactly where they are on your computer. They stop being asked, and they start again the moment the account is paid up.

Refunds

If Qwizzd is not what you wanted, ask within 14 days of a payment and it will be refunded in full, no reason needed. After that, cancelling stops the next payment rather than refunding the last one. If a fault on our side made the software unusable for a stretch of time, ask and we will put it right.

Artificial intelligence

Two features use a large language model: writing questions from notes you paste in, and marking written answers. Nothing else in Qwizzd does. Both are optional and part of the paid plan, and both are labelled where they appear.

When you use one, the text you provide is sent to our server and passed to a third-party model provider (currently OpenRouter), which returns the reply. Your text is not stored on the way through and is not used to train anything, by us or by them. Do not paste in anything you are not allowed to share.

A language model is a guess. Questions it writes may be wrong, biased or made up, and a mark it gives may be unfair. Read what it writes before adding it to a deck, treat a mark as an opinion rather than a result, and do not rely on either for anything that matters. What you keep from it is yours, and so is the responsibility for it. A deck on the marketplace may contain questions somebody wrote with these tools; whoever published it is responsible for having checked them.

Your decks

Your decks are yours. We claim nothing over them, and unless you publish one they never reach our servers. Whatever you put in them is your responsibility, including anything you import from elsewhere and anything you have to have permission to use.

The marketplace

The marketplace is decks people have chosen to publish. They are the publisher's, not ours. We read a deck before it goes up and we take down what we are told about, but we do not check every fact in every deck, and we make no promise that any deck is accurate, complete, lawful, or fit for what you want it for. Take a deck as you would take notes from a stranger.

If you publish a deck, you are telling us all of this is true:

• You made it, or you have the right to publish everything in it — every question, picture and sound. Copying somebody else's deck, textbook, exam paper or artwork into a deck does not make it yours.
• It contains nothing unlawful, hateful, sexual, harassing, deceptive, or dangerous, no malware, and no personal information about anybody who has not agreed to it.
• It is what it says it is: the name, the description and the shelf describe what is inside.

Publishing gives us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, review, copy, display and distribute the deck, with your username as its byline, through the marketplace and the application, for as long as it is published and as long afterwards as somebody who took it keeps their copy. You keep every other right. You can withdraw a deck by asking us; copies people have already downloaded stay with them.

We may decline, edit the listing of, move to another shelf, withdraw or delete any deck at any time, and we may stop an account publishing, without owing an explanation — though we will usually give one. You are responsible for what you publish, and if somebody makes a claim against us because of a deck you published, you agree to cover the cost of it.

Reporting a deck, and taking one down

If a deck on the marketplace infringes your copyright or another right, or breaks these terms, tell us at support@qwizzd.net with the subject Takedown. Include:

• the address of the deck (it looks like app.qwizzd.net/marketplace/…);
• what the problem is, and for a copyright claim, what work of yours it copies and that you own it or act for whoever does;
• a way to reach you.

We withdraw a reported deck while we look, usually within two working days, and we tell the person who published it what was said. If they answer that the report is wrong, we may put the deck back and tell you both, and the two of you can take it from there. An account whose decks are taken down more than once loses the ability to publish. Knowingly false reports are a breach of these terms.

Using it properly

Do not attack the service, probe it for weaknesses, scrape the marketplace, or send it more requests than a person would. Do not share an account or sell access to one. Do not tamper with the application to unlock what you have not paid for, and do not redistribute a modified copy of it. The software is licensed to you to use, not sold to you, and everything on this website and in the application that is not a deck somebody published is ours.

What is not promised

Qwizzd is a study aid, and it is sold as it is, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law will not let us leave out. It might miss a question, ask at the wrong moment, or fail to start after an update. Do not use it for anything where being reminded actually matters, and keep your own copy of anything you would hate to lose. That is what Export is for.

The service may be unavailable at times, and the application will keep working offline for a fortnight before it asks to reach the server again.

Limits on what we owe you

To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for any loss of profit, data, study time or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises; and our total liability to you for everything arising out of Qwizzd in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, or £20 if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

Ending it

Delete your account whenever you like, from Account, then Security. We may close an account that is being used to attack the service, to break the law or these terms, or to publish what these terms forbid, and will refund any unused part of a subscription if we do and the account was not being used for one of those things.

Disagreements

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If something has gone wrong, write to us first — nearly everything is put right by email within a few days, and we ask you to give it sixty days before doing anything else.

If that fails, any dispute between you and us will be settled by binding arbitration, on an individual basis, before a single arbitrator under the rules of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, conducted in English and, unless we agree otherwise, on the documents and by video. Each side pays its own costs. Neither of us may bring or take part in a class or collective action against the other. Either of us may still bring a claim within the small-claims limit in the courts, and either of us may go to court to stop the other infringing intellectual property.

If you are a consumer, nothing above stops you bringing a claim in the courts of the country you live in, using an alternative dispute resolution body there, or relying on the consumer law that applies to you, where that law gives you the right regardless of what a contract says.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, subscribers will be emailed at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will move. Carrying on using Qwizzd after that means accepting the change; if you would rather not, cancel and delete the account.

The rest

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms and the privacy page are the whole agreement between us about Qwizzd. We may hand our side of it to somebody who takes over running Qwizzd; you may not hand yours to anybody without asking.
