Installing it, getting it to ask, and everything to do with your account.

What it runs on
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (x64).
- macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.
There is no Linux, iPhone or Android version.
Installing
Windows
Run Qwizzd-win-x64.exe. Windows may show Windows protected your PC,
because Qwizzd is new and not yet widely downloaded. Click More info, then
Run anyway. Qwizzd installs for your user only, so it will not ask for an
administrator password.
macOS
- Open the
.dmgand drag Qwizzd into Applications. - Open Qwizzd from Applications. The first time, macOS may say it cannot check the app for malicious software. Click Done, not Move to Bin.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Qwizzd, and click Open Anyway, then confirm.
You only do this once. On macOS 13 or 14 you can instead Control-click Qwizzd in Applications and choose Open.
Updates
Qwizzd checks for a new version once a day and asks before installing it. On Windows it restarts itself on the new version. On macOS it downloads the new installer and shows it to you: drag Qwizzd into Applications again, replacing the old one. Your decks are not touched either way. Settings → Updates → Check now looks straight away.
When questions appear
Each deck asks on its own timetable: every so many minutes, between the hours you set, while it is switched on. Open a deck and change these under Schedule. If nothing is appearing, check that:
- the deck is switched on (the toggle on its card);
- it is inside the hours the deck asks between;
- quizzes are not paused — the tray icon (menu bar on a Mac) has Pause quizzes and Resume quizzes, and so does Settings → When it asks;
- Qwizzd is running. Closing the window leaves it running in the tray; Quit from the tray stops it. Settings → Starting up can open it when you sign in.
Accounts and signing in
You do not need an account to use Qwizzd; the free plan works without one. An account is for subscribing and for publishing decks.
To sign the app in: Settings → Account → Sign in. Your browser opens with a code. Check it is the same code the app is showing, then approve. One account can be signed in on three computers at once; remove one from the account page to free its place.
If Qwizzd cannot reach the server — on a plane, say — everything keeps working for two weeks before it needs to check your subscription again.
Subscribing, cancelling and refunds
Qwizzd Pro is £2.99 a month. Subscribe from the account page. The app notices on its own within a few hours; Settings → Account → Check subscription now makes it immediate.
To cancel, go to the account page and choose Manage billing. Pro keeps working until the end of the month you have paid for. Nothing you made is deleted: decks and questions that need Pro wait until you subscribe again.
Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of a payment at support@qwizzd.net and it is refunded in full, no reason needed.
Your decks
Decks live on your computer, in %APPDATA%\Qwizzd on Windows and
~/Library/Application Support/Qwizzd on macOS. They are not backed up anywhere
else, so keep a copy of the ones you care about: open a deck and choose
Export to save it as one .qwizzd file, which opens on any
computer.
Import, on the Decks screen, brings in .qwizzd files and
Anki packages (.apkg).
The marketplace
Decks other people have published, free to take. Anything you publish is read by a person before it goes up. To report a deck that copies your work or breaks the terms, write to support@qwizzd.net with the subject Takedown and the deck's address.
Deleting your account
On the account page, Security → Delete account. It cancels any subscription and removes everything the server holds about you. The decks on your computer are not touched; to remove Qwizzd completely, uninstall it and delete the folder above.
